Common questions

How do I book a sitter?

Search by city or postal code, filter by service, pet type and dates, and browse sitter profiles and reviews. Message a sitter or set up a free meet-and-greet first, then book and pay securely in the app.

How are sitters vetted?

Every sitter completes government ID verification, an RCMP background check, and a phone approval with our team before they can take bookings. Look for the verification badges on their profile.

How do payments work?

You pay in the app when your booking is confirmed - secure card payment in Canadian dollars. Your sitter is paid after the service is complete. For your protection, never pay outside the platform.

What is a meet-and-greet?

A free, no-obligation meeting so you, your pet and the sitter can get to know each other before you book. We recommend one before every first booking.

Can I cancel a booking?

Plans change, we get it. Open the booking and choose cancel any time before the stay starts: you get 100% back, booking fee and tax included, and your sitter is notified right away. Refunds go to your original payment method and usually show within 5 to 10 business days.

How do I get paid?

Once a stay is complete your earnings are released and sent to the bank account you connected in Sitter Mode. Payouts run on a schedule Petsity sets - weekly by default - and a tip is yours in full, with nothing taken off it.

How do I become a verified sitter?

Apply from Sitter Mode, settle the one-time application fee, then send us the documents we ask for. Our team reviews everything, including a call with you, and you can start taking bookings the moment you are approved.

How do I answer a booking request?

New requests arrive in Sitter Mode with the dates, the pets and what the owner is asking for. Accept or decline from the request itself, and message the owner from the same screen if there is anything you need to ask first.
